Why Do We Need Goshala ?

गावो विश्वस्य मातरः

In modern cities and villages alike, many cows are left without care. Some are abandoned after they stop giving milk, some are hurt in accidents, and others are caught by those who wish to harm them. These innocent Gaumata often wander hungry, face injuries, or die without help. This is Why the gaushala becomes so important.

A cow shelter works as a safe place for protection and care. It gives these voiceless Gaumata a new chance of life. Instead of letting them suffer on roads, they are brought to a peaceful home where they are fed, treated, and loved.

These shelters also help in saving Indian cow breeds that are slowly disappearing. They play a big role in keeping our cultural values alive by promoting kindness, non-violence, and service to living beings.

Because it is described in our scriptures like Skanda Purana says that Gaumata are the abode of all Gods ("सर्वे देवा स्थिता देहे सर्वदेवमयी हि गौ:”) and Gau is the first among the elements that support the earth (गोभिर्विप्रैश्च वेदैश्च सतीभिः सत्यवादिभिः अलुब्धैर्दानशीलैश्च सप्तभिर्धार्यते मही॥) hence respecting and serving them is an act of utmost virtue.
